In a world of fantasy, adventurers come from far and wide to join the Guild. They complete contracts to earn gold and glory. An inexperienced priestess joins her first adventuring party, but comes into danger after her first contract involving goblins goes wrong. As the rest of her party is either wiped out or taken out of commission, she is saved by a man known as Goblin Slayer, an adventurer whose only purpose is the eradication of goblins with extreme prejudice.
A spin-off novel written by Kagyu and illustrated by Shingo Adachi, titled Goblin Slayer Side Story: Year One (ゴブリンスレイヤー外伝イヤーワン, Goburin Sureiyā Gaiden: Iyā Wan), published the first volume on March 15, 2018. It is a prequel series that reveals Goblin Slayer's past and the events that led him to become an adventurer with the sole purpose of exterminating all goblins from the world.
Despite being a silver-ranked Adventurer, Goblin Slayer's choice of equipment poorly reflects his rank. He is often seen equipped in grubby leather armor with chain mail underneath paired with his signature cheap-looking helmet (which originally had horns) that envelops his head entirely in protective metal. However, due to the excellent sense of smell goblins possess, Goblin Slayer has a habit of neglecting the cleanliness of his armor as clean equipment would reek of metal, which would immediately alert goblins.
Goblin Slayer is a stoic and calm person who is generally unable to devote himself to the majority of things outside of goblin slaying. Because of this, he lacks the ability to understand certain social norms and doesn't notice the affections of those around him. His companions work to help him overcome this, but the process is difficult and arduous.
His most defining traits are his immense hatred towards goblins and his homicidal obsession with killing them all. These traits stem from two places: to prevent what happened to his village from happening to others and to get revenge by eliminating every single member of their race. To this end, he has a single-minded devotion that has led him to being rigorous in hunting them down, leaving nothing to chance, and pushing those under his tutelage into being just as prepared. He will not hesitate to put himself against odds that will all but ensure his death, being more than willing to face off against a goblin horde of at least 100 in an effort to kill as many as he can before they kill him.
Often overlooked due to his obsession with killing Goblins and his stoic demeanor, Goblin Slayer is a kind individual. He is amiable towards the general populace of the town and is generally able to maintain conversation even if it has little interest to him, such as when he conversed with Spearman at the Adventurer's Guild without his armor on. Goblin Slayer has also been shown prioritizing the safety of companions and civilians over his obsession with goblin killing, notably seen when he protected the farm of his childhood friend Cow Girl and was willing to give up everything he had to gather help in making sure it had enough protection. For these reasons, he has become renowned as \"The Frontier's Kindest\".
Goblin Slayer also seems interested in learning new ideas from people of all walks of life. He is always looking for new knowledge to absorb, mostly to find more efficient ways of tracking, trapping, and killing goblins. In turn, Goblin Slayer has very little knowledge of other types of monsters and is usually quick to forget about them or what they are called. To that end when he defeats more powerful monsters such as Ogre he comments about how goblins are more trouble than they are. He holds his older sister's words and teachings with high authority, as he believes she's always right without a doubt. As Goblin Slayer spends more time with his companions, he has started to become more socially adept, thinking more about others and on rare occasion, making remarks involving dry humor.

Goblin Slayer features character art by veteran fantasy game artist Denis Loubet (Metagaming, Origin Systems, Hero Games, Looking Glass Studios, Steve Jackson Games) who created the illustrations of Stormbeard, Mirelle, Hrotgar the troll, and the goblins, as well as visualizing the spell effects of Mirelle's sorcery.
The Endless Revenge game has terminated service in 2020, but Endless Hunting is currently available for players worldwide through the link provided by the official account. Just like the name implies, the game allows players to enjoy endless adventures and battles against goblins. Voice actors Goblinslayer Yuuichirou Umehara and Yui Ogura also reprise their roles here as the main characters Goblin Slayer and Priestess.
The second class for Goblin Slayer to take is relatively straightforward. Given his name, it should be no surprise that his last four levels go into Ranger, with the Hunter subclass. This class's Favored Enemy feature makes the most sense when you look at Goblin Slayer's lore, and, with his levels in Fighter, the lack of combat options with this class aren't a concern. With Favored Enemy, it's possible to pick two races of humanoid rather than two types of creatures, and it just so happens that most goblinoids fall into the humanoid category.
The Dungeons & Dragons 5e character built by this guide should be a strong, versatile combat character with an emphasis on using anything to his advantage. Much like in the Goblin Slayer anime, as long as this character has a party at his back to help cover his weaknesses, there shouldn't be a goblin in the Monster Manual that can stop him.
Powers and Abilities: Superhuman Physical Characteristics, Master Swordsman and Marksman, Enhanced Senses, Healing (With healing potions), Portal Creation (With Gate Scroll), Resistance to Poison (With antidote. Likely only works on poison used by goblins)
Attack Potency: Wall level (Can injure Goblin Champions, Hobgoblins, and Goblin Lords), Large Building level with Gate Scroll (He used it as a weapon by creating a portal to the bottom of the ocean. The high-pressure jet coming out of it was powerful enough to one-shot an Ogre and absorb a massive fireball he had created)
Stamina: Superhuman (Able to fight goblins for long periods of time. Can endure torture for an extended period of time without showing any particular reaction, even saying he doesn't really mind the pain)
Intelligence: Above Average (Goblin Slayer is an excellent strategist, specializing in ambush and guerrilla warfare. He can come up with extraordinary plans to trap large numbers of goblins, eliminating them with efficiency. Goblin Slayer has devoted himself towards all matters related to goblins, ranging from their habits to their mindsets. This makes him the frontier's foremost expert when it comes to dealing with goblins, a specialist without peer in matters relating to them sought out by High Elf Archer and Sword Maiden. He is always looking for new knowledge to absorb, mostly to find more efficient ways of tracking, trapping, and killing goblins)
Weaknesses: Lacks the ability to understand certain social norms and has difficulty emoting, as he potentially has an empathy related disorder of some kind, and will not hesitate to put himself against odds that will all but ensure his death when it comes to facing off against goblins.
The series strives to put the viewer in the headspace of its protagonist, the titular Goblin Slayer. The first few episodes outline his hatred of the goblins and the detachment he feels from those around him. None of the characters even have names; the audience merely knows their titles or roles.
The first episode of Goblin Slayer focuses on a 15-year-old priestess joining her first adventuring party, a group of three similarly inexperienced, but spirited youngsters - a collection of personalities that a typical shonen might spend an entire season exploring. By the 6 minute mark, things go horribly awry. Members of the group suffer horrific stab wounds, and die to swarming goblins with clubs and arrows and knives. Then comes the scene of goblins ripping the clothing off one of the party members before they begin to rape her.
Of course, the counterargument sidesteps the issue of framing entirely to focus on the narrative intent of the scene and the first episode in general. The goblins need to present a truly monstrous and evil threat, one so traumatic that both the protagonist and the audience will totally support the slaughter of goblins. This is a world where heroes go off to kill dragons and laugh about fighting demons. Goblins exist as an overlooked and uncared for problem. They remain as an existential threat for the common folk long after heroes leave for bigger and badder monsters. The rape and sexual assaults serve to hammer home the message that abuse happens when no one is looking in the world of Goblin Slayer.
Goblin Slayer is the titular protagonist of the light novel, anime, and manga series of the same name. He is an adventurer who, as his name applies, specializes in slaying goblins for his revenge after the goblins destroyed his village and killed his sister. 59ce067264
